TIME usually highlights the 100 most impactful new products and ideas each year.

This year, 2022, they decided to select a list of the best 200 inventions across several categories.

TIME reviews nominations and submissions for several key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact. Here's how they chose the inventions to include on their list for 2022.

So who made the list this year?

OSCILLA POWER

Oscilla Power is creating technology to capture energy from the ocean.

“Conventional devices can only tap the up and down motion, called the heave,” CEO Balky Nair says. Triton “also taps energy from the pitch, roll, yaw, sway, and surge of a wave.”

Oscilla Power is a highly innovative client pushing the edge of technology all the time.

They're so innovative that they often collaborate with the US Federal Government through many of their grant programs to fund high-impact, early-stage technology concepts.

Balky Nair, Oscilla's CEO, has been developing groundbreaking technology and working with our team at Intellectual Strategies for well over a decade (probably close to 15 years now).

As a critical part of their legal team, we've had the opportunity to be involved with their patents, trademarks, university partnerships, and much more.

TERNX

TernX is at the other end of the spectrum. Instead of creating large-scale technology that sits in the ocean, they're making it easier for parents to travel with a child across (or over) the ocean.

The TernX Carry On is a foldable stroller and carry-on suitcase in one. Not only is it extremely functional, it's really good-looking, too!

We've enjoyed working with Hoe Ping Lo and Tack Lee on this project and are excited to see their pre-sale orders take off.
